Lawmakers Express Concern Over Poor Housing For Armed Forces Personnel

Nigeria's House of Representatives has urged the ministries of defence, justice, power, works and housing and the service chiefs to immediately initiate an inter ministerial collaboration towards resolving all pending litigations with a view to expeditious resolution and proffer solutions to the acute problem of providing befitting accommodation for personnel of the armed forces of Nigeria.

The lawmakers are concerned that despite the huge sum appropriated every year in the federal budget for the rehabilitation of military barracks and other measures such as the establishment of the presidential committee on barracks rehabilitation, the residences of men and women of the armed forces continue to be inadequate.
