New Air Force Boss Calls For Support Among Officers

The Nigerian Air Force has tasked its personnel to sustain the successes recorded at the Training Command in Kaduna State, northwest Nigeria.

The new AOC at the command, Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Idris, made the appeal when he took over from the former AOC, Air Vice Marshal Christopher Okoye, who has been redeployed to the Air Force headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking during the handover and taking over ceremony held at the training command headquarters in Kaduna state capital, Air Vice Marshal Idris, called for support and cooperation from officers and other rankings of the command in the fight against insurgency and other related crimes with its area of responsibility.

He appealed to members of staff to discharge their duties diligently and abide by the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the command.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Air Officer Commanding, Air Vice Marshal Christopher Okoye, who is now the Director of Evaluation at the Air Force Headquarters in Abuja, commended the Air Staff for their contributions to the successes recorded under his leadership.

He identified kidnapping along the Kaduna-Abuja highway, cattle rustling in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area and incessant farmers/herders conflict in Southern Kaduna as some of the security challenges the command had to contend with for many months.

He, however, asks officers and men of the command to extend similar support to the new AOC for the continuous progress and development of the command.
