The United Nations international children emergency fund, UNICEF, has said it will assist the Nigerian government to make sure vulnerable children get back to school.
UNICEF representative, Terry Durnnian gave the commitment in Abuja at a press conference to raise awareness on child development in Nigeria.
The UNICEF representative said corporate bodies and well meaning Nigerians need to collaborate with government in providing quality basic education to the children.
Director general, national centre for women development said unicef’s gesture is a welcome development, noting that all children deserve equal treatment whether rich or poor in the society.
UNICEF is also expected to collaborate with the centre for women development to bring Nigeria’s football legends for a novelty match to raise awareness toward supporting vulnerable children in Nigeria.
